Sidemount<\/a> adapter systems are one solution for diving sidemount<\/a> if you already own a backmount wing<\/a>, but don’t want to make the investment in a dedicated sidemount<\/a> system. Obviously, you won’t get the same performance and feel as a dedicated sidemount<\/a> rig gives, but it does remain an option.<\/p>\n

The increasing popularity of mainstream sidemount diving<\/a> has seen a plethora of dedicated sidemount<\/a> systems enter the market in recent years. \u00a0However, many new sidemount<\/a> ‘converts’ already own back-mounted wing<\/a> BCD systems – and they seek the opportunity to customize their existing wings for sidemount<\/a> use.<\/p>\n

DIY backmount to sidemount<\/a> conversion projects provide mixed results – some exceptional and inventive, others truly horrid… dismal failures…<\/p>\n
